Our Mission

About Resonance Music & Community

Resonance Music & Community (RnC) is an Austrian-wide, registered nonprofit organisation (Verein nach dem Vereinsgesetz 2002) headquartered in Innsbruck. We exist for one reason: to give independent musicians and cultural professionals the community, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.

What We Do

Austria's independent music landscape is rich in talent but fragmented by geography and genre. RnC bridges those gaps. We operate at the intersection of cultural promotion, artist development, and community building — connecting local scenes into a national network and equipping artists with the professional tools that are usually reserved for major-label acts.

Our work rests on four pillars:

Cultural Exchange — We systematically connect musicians across Austria's regions and genres, creating collaborative opportunities that would not emerge on their own.

Cultural Promotion — We plan and produce concerts, festivals, workshops, and other artistic formats that bring music to diverse audiences.

Artist Services — We offer professional support in marketing, management, organisation, and legal matters — services that independent artists rarely have access to.

Capacity Building — Through mentoring programmes, knowledge transfer, and access to professional resources, we help emerging talent develop sustainable careers.

Our Vision

RnC strives to become Austria's leading civil-society service organisation for music promotion — a partner that does not just provide a stage, but accompanies artists holistically on their journey. We envision an Austria where every talented musician has access to the networks, knowledge, and professional support they need — regardless of where they live or what genre they play.

How We Create Impact (Theory of Change)

Our impact model follows a clear logic:

Inputs → Member contributions, public funding, donations, event revenue, and the expertise of our volunteer community.

Activities → Concerts, festivals, networking events, mentoring programmes, digital platforms, and one-on-one artist services.

Outputs → Number of events produced, audiences reached, active members, media coverage, and cooperation partners.

Long-term Impact → A vibrant, inclusive music culture in Austria — with stronger local scenes, greater equity for independent artists, and a higher public profile for music as a cultural force.

Values & Principles

Inclusivity — Open to all genres, backgrounds, and career stages. Transparency — Clear governance, public reporting, and accountable use of funds. Professionalism — Nonprofit in mission, professional in execution. Collaboration — We succeed when our artists and partners succeed.

Governance

RnC is governed under the Austrian Associations Act (Vereinsgesetz 2002). The General Assembly is our highest decision-making body. The Executive Board reports annually on finances, activities, and impact.
